Hypertension is the most important risk factor for stroke and heart attack. Changes in the body composition such as high fat mass to lean mass ratio, high omega 6 to 3 fatty acid ratio, high sodium potassium ratio and low magnesium level in the body due to lifestyle factors are the primary reason for increasing incidence for hypertension. Damage to blood vessel lining and inflammatory changes initiated by the continuous exposure to high blood sugar, high triglyceride and cholesterol leads to atherosclerosis and reduced blood flow to organs like kidney. Reduction in renal blood flow initiates a series of hormonal changes which contribute to increase in blood pressure.

DASH diet (dietary approach to stop hypertension) recommend, potassium intake to be increased to around 4500mg and sodium intake to below 1500mg. Evolutionally as a terrestrial animal human kidney has the capacity to retain sodium and can live with as low as around 500mg of sodium per day. But our capacity to retain potassium is low. Sodium and potassium are the major positively charged ions in the body. Conduction of electrical nerve impulses depends on active transport of sodium and potassium ions across the cell membrane with the help of sodium potassium pump.

Modern diet is high in sodium and low in potassium, sodium intake has gone as high above 7500mg and potassium has gone down to 2500mg leading to a reversal of sodium potassium ratio in the diet. This puts a strain on the sodium potassium pump at cell level. Sodium potassium pump is very crucial for maintaining cellular integrity. Around 20 -40 % of energy expenditure of the body at rest goes to maintaining this sodium potassium pump at cellular level which shows the importance of sodium and potassium and to have an optimal level of sodium and potassium in diet. Optimizing the sodium and potassium will not only help to control the blood pressure but to reduce stress levels and the associated hormonal and biochemical changes in the body too.

Human body is evolved on a diet with omega 6 to 3 fat ratio around 1:1. But in modern diet the omega 6 to 3 ratio has increased to around 1:20. This disturbance in the fatty acid ratio is the major reason for the increase in the diseases of modern era, the so called lifestyle diseases. Omega 6 fat is inflammatory and omega 3 fat is anti inflammatory in nature and excess omega 6 fatty acid in cell membrane bilayer and in the fat store increases the inflammation level leading to hormonal hormonal and immunological imbalance leading to hypertension.

Magnesium also has an important role in maintaining blood pressure. Low magnesium content of processed modern food is also contributing to the increased incidence of hypertension.

Benefits of Cell Activation Treatment In hypertension

Cell Activation for hypertension is a simple and practical way for lifestyle correction in the modern busy life. It includes correcting nutritional irregularities acting as causative factors for hypertension such as vitamin D deficiency, sodium potassium ratio, omega 3 to 6 ratio, optimizing nutrition on a regular basis with optimized nutrient food and optimizing physical activity with oxyflex activity practice.

Ready to eat optimized nutrient food make the practical implementation of DASH diet simple and easy. Low calorie versions of optimized nutrient food along with oxyflex cell stimulation protocol make weight reduction easy and can reduce 5 to 10% of body weight from fat mass in 30 days with ease. The high omega 3 fatty acid content with omega 3 to 6 ratio 1:1 reduces the production of inflammatory mediators and thereby protects the cardiovascular system from heart attack and stroke.

Another important aspect of Cell Activation is the possibility of weight reduction if the person is overweight or obese, with ease in a short period. Another aspect is the benefit of weight reduction and lifestyle correction for solving other associated health issues of lifestyle origin such as diabetes, asthma, arthritis dyslipidemia etc. Once weight reduction is achieved then it is easy to follow lifestyle correction because of reduced appetite and easy mobility for physical activity.
